I Have Found...

When I went through sorority recruitment, I was anxious and nervous to find the friends that I so badly desired to make. As a typically shy, introverted individual, I expected to make friends; however, I never expected to find such a large community where every single individual would prove to be supportive and compassionate. As soon as I became a member of Sigma Kappa, I realized I became a part of something so much bigger than myself. I met a supportive group of individuals I never would have met otherwise, who I can turn to for anything.
In a sorority, every single sister becomes such an important part of your life in some aspect. Whether it is a familiar face to smile and wave to on campus, or the sister that you share every secret with, every single sister means something.
I have found the sisters that support you in anything you do, the ones who constantly check on you and ask how you are doing.
I have found the sisters that make me laugh and smile even when I did not want to.
I have found the sisters to grab Chipotle or Dunkin with at any given moment.
I have found the sisters to study at the library with during finals week.
I have found the sisters who challenge me and make me a better version of myself.
I have found the sisters who will answer any questions I may have about my major and my academics.
I have found the sisters who will always have my back and will defend me in any given situation.
I have found the sisters who positively contribute to my self-esteem and allow me to be proud of myself.
I am so glad that I went through recruitment and was able to become a part of something that has made me a better person. Sigma Kappa has given me more than just friends, but rather the most understanding, kindhearted community of sisters.
